Park Meadow Park restoration.
This habitat restoration project at Pond Meadow Park in Braintree and Weymouth was initiated through collaboration with the park ranger and completed with financial support from the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR). With limited municipal funding available, the project focused on ecological impact—removing invasive buckthorn and mulching dead ash trees to reclaim the landscape. The cleared area was transformed into a meadow designed to support native wildflowers, pollinators, and local wildlife. By converting overgrown and declining forest into open meadow habitat, the project improved biodiversity and restored a healthier, more resilient ecosystem within the park.
